Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation’s (APU) Alumni Connect brought Global Alumni together at its inaugural Singapore gathering, marking the university’s second international alumni engagement after Tokyo, Japan with the event welcoming 50 APU graduates in Singapore for an evening of reconnection, professional exchange and updates on the university’s latest milestones.

Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) brought its Global Alumni community together once again with its first alumni gathering in Singapore, welcoming 50 graduates for an evening of reconnection, professional exchange and shared pride in their alma mater.

Organised by APU’s Alumni Connect, the event marked an important milestone in the university’s international alumni engagement efforts.

It was the second overseas alumni gathering hosted by APU, following the successful event held in Tokyo, Japan in November 2025, reflecting the university’s continued commitment to building a vibrant and well-connected global alumni network.

The Singapore gathering provided a welcoming platform for graduates from various disciplines and graduating batches to reconnect with fellow alumni, rekindle friendships and revisit the shared experiences that shaped their time at APU. 

With attendees representing diverse industries across Singapore, the evening also created valuable opportunities for professional networking and meaningful exchanges.

A warm welcome from APU leadership

The evening began with a warm welcome address by Dr Sryee Inthran, APU’s Director of Industry Engagement (Talent).

In his remarks, Dr Sryee shared updates on the university’s latest developments and milestones, while emphasising the importance of maintaining strong ties with APU’s global alumni community. 

He highlighted that alumni continued to play a vital role in strengthening the university’s international presence and impact.

Connection, Inspiration and the Road Ahead

One of the highlights of the evening was an engaging sharing session by Ungku Nazren Al 'Haq Ungku Harun Al Rashid, Special Officer to the Co-Chairman (YAB Menteri Besar Johor) and a proud APU alumnus from the Class of 2010.

During his sharing, Ungku Nazren reflected on his academic journey at APU and spoke about his professional experiences since graduation. 

His story resonated with many alumni in attendance, demonstrating how the knowledge, networks and opportunities gained during university years continued to shape career paths long after graduation.

The evening also featured a session by Mr Hariharan, APU’s Industry Outreach Lead, who shared insights into the growing impact of APU’s alumni initiatives.

His session highlighted the benefits of remaining actively engaged with the alumni community, including opportunities for professional collaboration, career development, mentorship and community involvement.

The gathering concluded with a warm dinner session, allowing alumni to continue their conversations, reconnect with friends and build new connections across different generations of APU graduates.

As a token of appreciation, each attendee received exclusive APU appreciation gifts to commemorate their participation in the memorable evening.

The strong turnout in Singapore demonstrated the enthusiasm and unity of APU’s international alumni community. 

As APU continued to expand its global outreach, more alumni gatherings and engagement initiatives were planned to further strengthen connections among graduates worldwide.

Through these efforts, APU remained committed to nurturing a supportive and globally connected alumni network that would continue to inspire and empower future generations of students.
