A High-Fly Report Card for Enterprise@APU

The Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) has once again demonstrated its strength as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship through a series of impactful initiatives led by its start-up incubator, Enterprise@APU.

Between April and August 2025, Enterprise@APU rolled out a succession of flagship programmes designed to equip students with entrepreneurial competencies, strengthen real-world linkages, and transform ideas into sustainable ventures. 

These initiatives engaged over 190 student entrepreneurs alongside mentors, industry experts, and investors—an ecosystem that fostered creativity, collaboration, and practical innovation.

Enterprise@APU is spearheaded by APU’s Chief Innovation & Enterprise Officer, Prof Ir EUR ING Dr Vinesh Thiruchelvam, and led by Dr Beh Ching Yew, Head of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Specifically designed for undergraduates across disciplines, the incubator nurtures entrepreneurial skills through inspiration, self-discovery, and an innovation-first mindset.

A Dynamic Line-Up of Programmes

From immersive bootcamps to long-term acceleration programmes, Enterprise@APU offered its students diverse pathways to develop and test their ideas.

Cultivating Real-World Skills

Across these initiatives, students not only honed their technical and entrepreneurial expertise but also gained valuable exposure to market realities, pitching strategies, and design thinking frameworks. 

The events were built around hands-on collaboration, giving participants the opportunity to test their ideas under real-world constraints and receive feedback directly from industry leaders.

The structured yet dynamic approach of Enterprise@APU ensured that students walked away with practical insights into value proposition design, business model scalability, and the adaptability required to thrive in today’s competitive startup ecosystem.

Driving APU’s Mission Forward

These three high-impact programmes reaffirm APU’s position as a centre for entrepreneurial education in Malaysia. By offering undergraduates exposure to real-world challenges, direct mentorship, and industry networks, Enterprise@APU cultivates future-ready graduates who are not only career-prepared but innovation-driven.

The incubator’s success also demonstrates APU’s wider mission: to build an academic environment where creativity and enterprise flourish, and where students are empowered to convert bold ideas into sustainable ventures with meaningful economic and social impact.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Looking back at the achievements of the past eight months, APU celebrates the perseverance, creativity, and ambition of its student entrepreneurs. Their ideas—ranging from AI-powered assistive technologies to environmentally conscious marketplaces—are clear indicators of a new generation eager to create, disrupt, and reimagine industries.

In his closing remarks, Prof Vinesh commended the remarkable spirit displayed by participants across all three initiatives:
